Time to stop it using several new reliable lie detectors. This site is dedicated to the propositions that: 1. The great terrorism today is not in Iraq or New York or Madrid or London or Bali. It is in every community in the world, and that it goes under the name of Rape. 2. There is far, far more which could be done about rape than is being done. Rape leads to or causes far more deaths and far more distress than conventional terrorism. Yet far, far fewer resources are spent on fighting rape than on fighting terrorism. 3. Rape is the forgotten crime. It is also one of the easiest crimes to get away with. There are too few resources being allocated to it and little effort is being put into conquering it. No amount of tinkering with the current system will solve the problem. Therefore the problem of rape will continue or increase until the system is improved. What needs doing Rape in all its manifestations and disguises has to be recognised for what it is, a huge and universal problem. The recognition has to be followed by a big increase in brains and other resources to combat it. And we are not talking a huge amount - we are talking less than is spent on Gulf War Syndrome every year, for instance. It has been demonstrated that the world can can come together to work on specific problems - the current cooperation on diseases is an example. Rather than direct competition, cooperation between teams across the world makes success easier and quicker to achieve. Rape is one such specific problem, a massive one, where this strategy should be implemented.. It won`t happen by itself - women (and men) have to come together to achieve this. Up till recently there seemed no significant way the system could be improved in the real world. Now there are many people working on many variations of the perfect tools to defeat the problem, reliable lie detectors. At this early stage in the development of this site we will look at what seems to be the obvious way to tackle the problem and the suffering and death it brings, and not only to the primary victims. For more than 50 years now there has been discussion and experimentation with lie detectors. Most people will have heard of the notorious `polygraph`, for instance. The polygraph has little future in this discussion. There are other, far more powerful and accurate tools being developed all over the world which are capable of doing a much better job. The appearance and development of ever faster and more accurate methods of looking into the brain and seeing it at work is making this possible. It is becoming possible to WATCH people telling lies. For instance: http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/14.01/lying.html http://www.officer.com/article/article.jsp?siteSection=20&id=26454

We would ask that no matter what problem mainly concerns you, join the anti-rape movement and you will get your problem solved more quickly. One big push in one direction is better than many smaller ones in different directions. Rape is a universal crime, pervading all places and cultures, ubiquitous and capable of causing huge and lasting distress. The current systems are manifestly not up to the task of dealing with it, and no amount of tinkering will solve that. So Make People Aware The existence and development of lie detectors, and the changes they can bring, has to enter the mainstream of peoples` consciousness. Mention it in the coffee shop, in discussions, in your blog. Link to us. Put a note up on notice boards, replace if it gets removed. There is a copy of an A5 page you might want to consider on page 7 of this site. Put it on a t-shirt, a bumper sticker, window sign etc. Put a link on your web page. At this stage it is vital that as many people as possible hear about this and start thinking about it and discussing it: - to make them aware that a massive change is on the horizon - to give victims hope that the perpetrators will be caught sooner or later - to put a dent in the perception of potential rapists that rape is a `free` crime - to make them realise that 5 or 10 or 15 years down the line they will answer for it. Make your representatives aware. Ask your local lawmen - have they used or considered using the guilty knowledge type detector in any cases? This is usable now, and is admissible in court in the USA already (eg see brainwavescience.com.) Let us know how you fare in the forum on this site. **** In the future: A million raped women outside the White House would be noticed. **** RAPE IS A PSYCHOLOGICAL CRIME. It causes short and long-term distress particularly to the victim and those who care about the victim, but also to to the local and general community and society. That their society should be concerned about their involuntary distress is THE fundamental right of all people. **** The current system of lie detection as it appears to be shaping up is utterly inadequate to the needs of society. We need EVERY victim to have the opportunity to take a test, with a minimal amount of questioning, which would force every suspect to agree to be tested also, or face the consequences of his refusal. The tests must be FREE to those taking them. Eventually they should be available (Free) to anyone who wants one. There must be many testing centers with staff independent of any other department and results available to both sides (as is done with drug testing of athletes now) but in real time. Evaluation of data could be done remotely in one of several centers, picked at random - the test centers must be connected so that any test center can evaluate the scans of any test center. The whole process must be as transparent as glass. Other adequate measures will of course have to be taken against corruption. Tests should be available to eg politicians looking for election, should they wish to take them to demonstrate their honesty. Once some politicians start to take them, others will hopefully be forced to follow. Some of the bad ones will thus be filtered out before they can do any damage. More than one type of lie detector can be used at the same time to increase reliability. Ethicist Paul Root Wolpe: "The goal of detecting deception requires far more public scrutiny than it has had up until now. As a society, we need to have a very serious conversation about this."
